Following the performances of AAMAA at Kathmandu Triennale, the ensemble and additional collaborators began creating a short art film. Scores from the rehearsal process were filmed throughout the Kathmandu Valley at the Donkey Sanctuary in Godhavari, Taragaon Museum, and a dear friend’s home. The weekend shoot turned into a four part film.

The title of the work is Ma, meaning I or self in Nepali. Each part focuses on a theme: the self, relationships, ritual and our emotional worlds.

This work was filmed and edited by Pranav Manandhar for Fuzz Factory Productions. The work was co-directed by Pooja Gurung and Ryan Elisabeth Reid.
